Vietnamese Team Suffers Defeat Against Indonesia in World Cup Qualifying Match
Last night, Vietnam suffered another defeat against Indonesia, losing 0-1 at Bung Karno Stadium in the World Cup 2026 qualifier. Shin Tae-yong’s team dominated the match, with midfielder Egy Maulana scoring in the 52nd minute after a mistake by defender Vo Minh Trong.
Coach Ji-won criticized Vietnam’s lack of clear tactics, noting that the team’s lineup changes and defensive instability are hindering their performance. The defeat drops Vietnam to 3rd place in Group F with 3 points from 3 matches.
Troussier’s side will have a chance for redemption on March 26 when they face Indonesia again at My Dinh Stadium.
