Pakistan Coach Stephen Constantine Provides Update on Diaspora Players Ahead of Clash Against Jordan: FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers更新
Pakistan national football team coach Stephen Constantine provided an update regarding the inclusion of diaspora players for the upcoming match against Jordan in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. The match is set to take place on March 21 at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad.
Constantine revealed that four to five players currently competing in foreign leagues will be joining the squad in preparation for the Jordan clash. Speaking to the media during the ongoing training camp in Lahore, Constantine expressed his belief that Pakistan does not stand a chance of qualifying for the next World Cup, despite the players’ hard work.
The coach emphasized the need for a proper domestic league in Pakistan to facilitate the discovery of new talent. While the preliminary squad has been announced, the final squad, which will include overseas players, is yet to be revealed.
Additionally, team captain Easah Suliman is poised to return to the squad after regaining fitness from injury. Following the home game on March 21, Pakistan will travel to Jordan for the away fixture on March 26 as part of the ongoing second round of qualifiers.
As of now, Pakistan finds themselves at the bottom of Group G’s points table after suffering defeats in their initial two matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan. The team’s prospects for advancement in the qualifiers appear bleak.
