Significant Progress Made by PFF Normalisation Committee in Restructuring Football in Pakistan
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee (NC) provided an update on the restructuring of football in the country. Progress has been made, with the club scrutiny process expected to be completed in the next three to four weeks. This will be followed by the much-anticipated District Football Association (DFA) Elections.
Clubs have until the 31st of January to submit the necessary documents for scrutiny. The voting process for DFA Elections will involve both physical and documentation scrutiny.
In a statement, the PFF NC commended the football community for their achievements, noting the significant number of matches played and the involvement of over 300 individuals from the local football community. Their support has been crucial to the success of the initiative.
The impact of the Pakistan Football Connect (PFC) and the All Pakistan District Championship (APDC) was also highlighted. These initiatives have played a vital role in eliminating bogus clubs from the system, ensuring a more transparent and credible setup.
Once the club scrutiny process is completed, the PFF NC outlined the next steps in the plan. The Election process will move to the District level, with the remaining part of the APDCs to be concluded alongside the newly elected DFAs.
This progression is essential for the development and organization of football at the district level. The timeline for the DFA Elections is set for late February, with the official date to be announced after approval from FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the PFF Election Committee.
