“PFF Normalisation Committee Reaches Crucial Phase in Election Process: Voter List for District Football Association Elections Released”

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee (NC) has entered a pivotal stage in its election process by releasing the voters list for the District Football Association (DFA) Elections on PFF’s official website and Social Media platforms. This move, announced by NC Chairman Haroon Malik and NC member Muhammad Shahid Niaz at a press conference in Lahore’s FIFA House, signifies a dedication to transparency and fairness.

Haroon Malik stressed the importance of meritocracy, noting that only clubs meeting specific criteria have been granted the right to vote. The selection process involved rigorous scrutiny of over 6000 club applications, with requirements including player numbers, officials, adherence to club constitution, submission of affidavits, endorsement from district sports officers, and possession of a bank account. No compromises were permitted on these essential criteria, highlighting the seriousness of the election process.

While some clubs did not qualify for voting rights, they will still have opportunities to engage in football events, promoting inclusivity within the football community. Extensive outreach efforts, such as newspaper advertisements, seminars, social media posts, Pakistan Football Connect (PFC), and press conferences, were utilized to ensure broad awareness.

Muhammad Shahid Niaz mentioned that stakeholders were kept informed through thousands of emails and phone calls, with guidance from an advisory committee and influential figures in football. Mobile vans were deployed across cities to facilitate registration, demonstrating a commitment to accessibility for all interested parties.

Notably, clubs that currently do not meet the criteria can still strive to fulfill constitutional requirements in the future to become eligible for voting rights. This commitment to fairness and inclusivity underscores the NC’s dedication to ensuring a democratic and representative electoral process in Pakistani football.
