Head coach Shin Tae-yong praised Indonesia’s performance after they secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia in their AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 26 Group C match on Thursday. Indonesia, making their debut in the third round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers, took the lead through Ragnar Oratmangoen but were pegged back by Musab Al Juwayr’s equalizer.

Shin acknowledged the challenging conditions and commended his team’s collective effort, noting how even his attackers contributed defensively. “I’m proud of the players’ efforts,” Shin said, adding that Indonesia is a much-improved side capable of surprises in future matches.

Saudi head coach Roberto Mancini, meanwhile, expressed frustration with his team’s inability to capitalize on their opportunities, highlighting this as a recurring issue. Saudi Arabia will next face China PR, while Indonesia prepares to host Australia in Jakarta.
