Vote for your A-League Men Coach of the Month: March – Italiano, Jackson, Popovic, Talay
The Australia Hyundai A League is in the spotlight once again as the Coach of the Month nominees for March have been revealed. The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) have teamed up with Football Coaches Australia (FCA) to present four contenders for this prestigious title, giving fans the chance to vote for their favorite coach.
Giancarlo Italiano of Wellington Phoenix clinched the fan vote for October/November, but Mark Jackson from Central Coast Mariners has been on a winning streak, securing Coach of the Month honors for December, January, and February. Both Italiano and Jackson are back in the running for March after the FCA panel’s monthly selection.
The nominees for March include Giancarlo Italiano from Wellington Phoenix, Mark Jackson from Central Coast Mariners, Ufuk Talay from Sydney FC, and Tony Popovic from Melbourne Victory. These coaches have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and achieved commendable results during the month.
Italiano’s Wellington Phoenix had a solid March with 3 wins out of 4 games, scoring 6 goals and conceding 4. On the other hand, Jackson’s Central Coast Mariners played 3 games, winning 2, and conceding only 2 goals. Ufuk Talay from Sydney FC also had a successful month, with 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 defeat, scoring 8 goals and conceding 4. Lastly, Tony Popovic from Melbourne Victory won 2 games, drew 1, and lost 1, with 8 goals scored and 7 conceded.
The FCA panel, consisting of Catherine Cannuli, Sarah West, John Kosmina, Ian Greener, and Gary Cole, will vote for their top three coaches, allocating three votes for their first choice, two for their second, and one for their third. Additionally, the panel will also vote for the Liberty A-League Coach of the Month on the same schedule.
