Sepahan Shocked by Sanat Naft in Persian Gulf Pro League
Sepahan FC faced a surprising defeat against struggling Sanat Naft in the latest match of the Persian Gulf Pro League. The game took place in Abadan, where Bubacarr Trawally opened the scoring for the hosts in the eighth minute, followed by Yousef Key Shams extending the lead to 2-0 in the 26th minute. Despite Shahriar Moghanlou pulling one back for Sepahan in the 33rd minute, they were unable to overturn the deficit.
In another PGPL fixture, Tractor and Aluminum battled to a 1-1 draw in Tabriz. Mehdi Hashemnejad put Tractor ahead in the 36th minute, but Mehran Mousavi equalized for Aluminum in the 83rd minute, ensuring both teams shared the points at full time.
As for the league standings, Esteghlal continues to lead the table with 47 points, holding a slim one-point advantage over their fierce rivals Persepolis. Tractor and Sepahan occupy the third and fourth positions with 40 and 38 points respectively, as the race for the PGPL title heats up with each passing match.
