GFA and Collaborators to Visit F4S Participating Schools for Character Building Messages

Guam Football Association, together with partners Guam Police Department, Guam Airport Police, and Guam Department of Education, will kick off pre-scheduled “F4S School Rallies” at elementary schools as part of the Triple J Auto Group Football 4 Schools program starting Monday.

The program consists of three core components: school visits, regional football competitions, and a Jamboree event featuring separate boys and girls teams from all 24 participating elementary schools. The islandwide Jamboree is slated for Apr. 27 at GFA.

GFA General Secretary Joe Cepeda emphasized the importance of the off-the-pitch aspect of the program, aiming to instill character-building values and life skills beyond the sport itself. The school visits will provide students the opportunity to engage with program collaborators, Guam National Program players and coaches, as well as representatives from participating schools.

Sgt. Paul Tapao from the Guam Police Department and Officers Ray Reyes and Mike Winn from Guam Airport Police will lead the F4S School Rallies throughout the week, engaging students in anti-bullying messages and life skills presentations.

Notably, program sponsors include Triple J Auto Group as the title sponsor, with other supporters like Moda Gino’s, Para’isu, and Shirley’s Coffee Shop, among others.

The school visits will span from Apr. 1 to Apr. 5, with the Guam National Program athletes initiating sessions with football activities and discussions on core values. Following that, collaborators will continue with presentations on drug refusal, being community role models, and the significance of mental health.

Moreover, the school representative teams gearing up for the islandwide Jamboree will be introduced to their peers post-collaborator presentations.

The islandwide Jamboree is on the calendar for Apr. 27 starting at 8 a.m., with inquiries directed to the GFA Football Events Department via email at (email protected) for further details.
