Vietnam Holds Morocco to 3-3 Draw in International Futsal Tournament

Vietnam secured another point in the 2024 International Futsal Tournament, holding Morocco to a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Lanh Binh Thang Stadium. With their second consecutive draw following the stalemate against New Zealand, Vietnam displayed resilience against the 8th-ranked Moroccan team.

Facing off against the strong Moroccan side, Vietnam surprised everyone by taking the early lead just 22 seconds into the game through Tu Minh Quang’s precise strike. However, Morocco quickly responded with Mottaki Sbae’s goal to level the score at 1-1. Vietnam captain Duc Hoa then converted a penalty to put his team ahead again.

As the game progressed, Boutraba capitalized on a throw-in to bring Morocco back into the contest, making it 2-2 before halftime. The second half saw Van Tien reclaim the lead for Vietnam with a well-placed shot in the 29th minute, only for Morocco to equalize once more through Mouad Sena’s effort in the 37th minute.

In the day’s other fixture, Iran bounced back from their opening game defeat to New Zealand by defeating them 5-1. With these results, Morocco currently tops the standings with four points, followed by Iran in second place with three points. Vietnam sits in third with two points, while New Zealand finds themselves at the bottom with just one point.

Looking ahead, the upcoming matches on 31 March 2024 will see Morocco facing off against New Zealand in the early game, followed by Vietnam taking on Iran in the evening fixture. Stay tuned for more exciting futsal action as the tournament progresses.
