Central Coast Mariners Coaches Mark Jackson and Emily Husband Win A-League Coach of the Month Awards for February
Central Coast Mariners coaches Mark Jackson and Emily Husband have been named the A-League’s Coaches of the Month for February. This follows their previous clean sweep of the awards in January. The nominees are selected by the Football Coaches Australia panel, which includes notable names like Catherine Cannuli and John Kosmina. The winner is determined through a fan vote, and both Jackson and Husband emerged victorious yet again.
Husband secured her second consecutive win after leading her team to one win, one draw, and one defeat in February. She guided her team to a draw against Melbourne Victory and a significant win over Perth Glory on the road, with Matildas forward Kyah Simon scoring a crucial goal. Husband was nominated alongside coaches from Western United, Newcastle Jets, and Melbourne Victory.
Meanwhile, Jackson joined Husband in winning back-to-back awards as the Mariners cement their position as contenders in both the Isuzu UTE A-League and Liberty A-League. The Mariners had a busy month, playing seven games across all competitions and advancing to the Inter-Zonal Semi Finals of the AFC Cup.
In domestic competition, the Mariners started February strong with a 4-0 victory over Adelaide United. Despite a goalless draw with Wellington and a loss to Sydney FC, they bounced back with consecutive 1-0 wins against Western Sydney and Melbourne Victory. Jackson was nominated alongside coaches from Wellington, Macarthur FC, and Sydney FC for the February award.
With both coaches leading their teams to success on and off the pitch, the Central Coast Mariners are looking strong as they continue their campaign in the A-Leagues. Their consistent performances and impressive displays have rightfully earned Jackson and Husband the Coach of the Month awards for February.
