National Team Announcement for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Indonesia: Nguyen Hoang Duc Returns and Looks Forward to Competing

Coach Philippe Troussier and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have revealed the National Team roster for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers matches against Indonesia, scheduled for March 21 and March 26. Among the notable inclusions is Nguyen Hoang Duc, who missed the 2023 Asian Cup due to injury but is now back in action and eager to contribute to the team.

Expressing his excitement about returning to the squad, Nguyen Hoang Duc emphasized his determination to showcase his abilities and make a significant impact in the upcoming matches. Despite not being in peak form in the V-League, he is looking forward to the challenge and is motivated to perform at his best on the international stage.

Another key player making a return to the team is Nguyen Cong Phuong, who has garnered experience playing in Japan. Nguyen Hoang Duc praised his colleague’s qualities as a striker, highlighting Phuong’s boldness and proficiency in scoring goals. The duo often engages in discussions about their experiences playing football abroad, underscoring their shared passion for the sport.

However, the team will have to cope with the absence of Pham Tuan Hai, known for his speed and agility on the field. His presence would have provided additional passing options and assists, a valuable asset in competitive matches like the ones against Indonesia.

Preparations for the upcoming matches are already underway, with the team set to gather on March 13, albeit fully assembled on March 15 due to prior commitments in the National Cup. Coach Philippe Troussier will have limited time for training in Hanoi before the team travels to Indonesia on March 19 for the first match at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on March 21.

Following the fixture in Indonesia, the team will return home to face their opponents once again at the My Dinh National Stadium on March 26. With only a short turnaround between matches, the players and coaching staff are focused on fine-tuning their strategies and tactics to secure positive results in both encounters.

As the Vietnamese team gears up for the crucial World Cup Qualifiers, fans are eagerly anticipating the performances of their beloved national squad under the guidance of Coach Troussier. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
