Hanoi FC confirms Pham Tuan Hai’s injury: Update on player’s status

Hanoi FC Star Pham Tuan Hai Injured, Likely to Miss Matches Against Indonesia

In a match that saw Hanoi FC emerge victorious with a 3-1 win over Quang Nam, the spotlight shifted to Nguyen Tang Tien’s dangerous tackle in the dying moments of extra time. Tien was shown a red card for the incident, but it was Pham Tuan Hai who bore the brunt of the tackle, sustaining a serious injury. Fortunately, initial assessments indicated no damage to his bones.

Following a check-up on March 9, it was revealed that the 26-year-old forward had suffered an injury to his right ankle joint, mandating a minimum one-month recovery period. As a result, Tuan Hai is set to miss the upcoming clash between Hanoi FC and Hong Linh Ha Tinh in the 2023/24 National Cup’s Round of 16.

Moreover, his absence is likely to extend to the Vietnamese national team’s fixtures against Indonesia in March. This development presents a significant setback for both Hanoi FC’s manager, Philippe Troussier, and the Vietnamese team, as they aim to secure a spot in the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.

With the national team slated to convene in Hanoi on March 12, Troussier will assess the players’ performances during training to finalize the squad for the upcoming matches against Indonesia. The team is scheduled to face Indonesia on March 21 away before returning home to host the same opponent on March 26.

Tuan Hai’s absence due to injury is a blow to both his club and country’s aspirations, underscoring the challenges they must navigate as they strive for success on the domestic and international fronts. The road ahead appears arduous, but with resilience and determination, both Hanoi FC and the Vietnamese national team aim to overcome obstacles and achieve their respective goals.
