3 V-League Clubs Resist Leaving Hang Day, New Proposals Emerged

“Three V-League Clubs in Dispute over Hang Day Stadium: New Proposals Unveiled”

The Vietnamese Football Federation (VFF) recently addressed a pressing issue involving the organization of the national football championship. The VFF highlighted that according to AFC regulations, the competition should follow a home-away format, with a maximum of two clubs permitted to utilize the same stadium. However, amidst the 2023 season, three clubs – Hanoi FC, CAHN, and Viettel Sports Club – all expressed their desire to use the Hang Day stadium as their home ground for matches, contravening AFC guidelines.

With the looming conclusion of the current season, a decision must be made regarding which club will vacate the Hang Day Stadium. Despite this necessity, no club has indicated a willingness to depart at this juncture. Hanoi FC justified their stance by citing significant investments made in upgrading the stadium, deeming it impractical to relocate. On the other hand, The Cong Viettel emphasized its rich heritage and reluctance to part ways with Hang Day stadium, while CAHN cited favorable conditions as their reason for preferring the stadium.

In light of this impasse, Thanh Nien newspaper reports that the trio of clubs is contemplating a proposal stipulating that the team finishing with the lowest ranking in the V-League after the ongoing season will be tasked with relinquishing Hang Day Stadium. Failing this, they may seek an extension from VFF and AFC to secure a new suitable venue before facing the prospect of being designated as outliers in the competition.

The deadlock persists with no resolution in sight, as the clubs involved remain steadfast in their determination to retain the stadium as their base. The situation underscores the complex dynamics at play within Vietnamese football, as clubs grapple with logistical and regulatory challenges in pursuit of competitive success. Stay tuned for further developments as the saga unfolds in the realm of V-League football.
