South Korea dominates with a 13-0 win to reach Asian tourney semis

Korean U20 Women Dominate Uzbekistan with 13-0 Victory, Advance to Semi-Finals of Asian Tournament

Korean U20 women showcased their dominance in a remarkable 13-0 victory over host Uzbekistan. The match kicked off with Hong Chae-Bin’s classy opener in the 8th minute, followed by Yang Eun-Seo doubling the lead just 2 minutes later. Kim Jih-Yeon extended the scoreline to 3-0 in the 20th minute with a well-taken chance.

The Korean side continued to overwhelm their opponents as Hong Chae-Bin and Yang Eun-Seo completed their hat-tricks, while Hwang Da-Yeong, Nam Seung-Eun, Kang Eun-Young, Eom Mink-Young, and Jeon Yu-Gyeong also got on the scoresheet. The final whistle blew with a resounding 13-0 victory for coach Park Youn-Jeong’s team.

Despite the emphatic win, the Korean U20 women had to settle for second place in Group A as Australian U20 women secured the top spot with a 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei. Jessika Nash, Zara Kruger, and Claudia Cicco found the back of the net to maintain Australia’s perfect record in the group stage.

Looking ahead, the last 2 matches of Group B on March 10 will determine the final standings. Japan U20 women will face North Korea U20 women, with a draw enough to secure first place for the defending champions. Meanwhile, China U20 women must secure a big win against Vietnam and hope for a Japan victory over North Korea to keep their tournament hopes alive.
