“Vietnam National Team Prepares for World Cup Qualifiers Rematch with Indonesia”
Vietnam’s national football team is gearing up for two crucial matches against Indonesia in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia. Following a defeat against Indonesia at the 2023 Asian Cup, coach Philippe Troussier and his players are eager to make amends by securing a victory at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
In preparation for the much-anticipated rematch with Tim Garuda, coach Troussier has been actively scouting talented players in the V-League. His goal is to handpick the most promising individuals to help Vietnam achieve a positive outcome against Indonesia.
During a recent clash between CAHN and Hong Linh Ha Tinh (HLHT), coach Troussier made an appearance at Hang Day Stadium to assess the players. Despite being the away team, coach Nguyen Thanh Cong’s squad managed to put up a strong fight and salvaged a point with Nguyen Quang Hai’s late goal in the 90+1 minute.
Reports from Bongdaplus reveal that coach Troussier closely monitored four standout players from Ha Tinh. Midfielder Vu Viet Trieu, defender Bui Van Duc, midfielder Nguyen Trung Hoc, and striker Vu Quang Nam impressed the 68-year-old coach with their performances.
Notably, Van Duc and Quang Nam have previously received call-ups to the national team under Troussier’s tenure. The remaining two players, Trieu and Hoc, are being considered as potential additions to strengthen the team’s left-sided midfielder and central midfielder positions. With their impressive displays, all four HLHT players stand a chance of representing Vietnam at the international level.
As the national team continues its preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, coach Troussier’s meticulous selection process and focus on emerging talents from the V-League signal Vietnam’s determination to secure a positive outcome in their upcoming matches against Indonesia.
