Becamex Binh Duong Club Falls to Ho Chi Minh City in V-League Round 12 Match

In a recent V-League round 12 showdown, Becamex Binh Duong Club suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Ho Chi Minh City. The only goal of the match came in the 30th minute courtesy of Vo Huy Toan, sealing the fate of the Thu Thu squad at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Coach Le Huynh Duc opted to start striker Nguyen Tien Linh in the game, despite the Vietnamese player not being in peak condition to make a significant impact. Following the match, the 51-year-old coach commented on his protege’s performance, acknowledging Tien Linh’s return from injury as a factor affecting his output.

“Tien Linh just came back from injury so we can’t ask for more. However, we don’t have anyone else, so we have to rely on Tien Linh. We play in a 4-4-2 formation and really need him. But his performance hasn’t been at its best since his recovery,” mentioned Coach Huynh Duc.

Reflecting on the away defeat, the Binh Duong Club captain admitted that Ho Chi Minh City put up a strong and determined performance, creating difficulties for his team. He emphasized the need to minimize corner kicks due to their struggles in dealing with high balls and lamented the missed opportunities that could have altered the outcome of the match.

Before the game, Coach Huynh Duc had instructed his players to give their all, hinting that a different result could have been achievable if Binh Duong had capitalized on early chances. He believed that a draw or even a victory was within reach for his team had they been more clinical in front of goal.

The post-match analysis painted a picture of missed opportunities and strategic adjustments that could have altered the course of the game. Despite the defeat, Binh Duong will need to regroup and focus on their upcoming fixtures to bounce back from this setback in the V-League campaign.
