Hai Phong Coach Acknowledges Challenges in V-League ‘Free Fall’

“Hai Phong Club’s Struggle in V-League Continues with Draw Against SLNA”

Hai Phong Club, once seen as a contender in the V-League’s top tier, has plummeted down the rankings following a string of five winless matches, including four straight losses. Their recent 2-2 draw against SLNA provided a glimmer of hope, but a late defensive error allowed Michael Olaha to equalize from the penalty spot, leaving Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem and his team rueing missed opportunities.

In a statement to Thanh Nien newspaper, Coach Nghiem lamented the defensive lapse that cost his team victory, stating, “A match full of regret. We made a huge mistake at the end of the match when the defense was unsafe. Just clear the ball and it’s all over.” The draw not only dealt a blow to morale but also saw injuries to key players Van Toi and Mpande, further complicating an already tough situation.

With Huu Son and Viet Hung returning from injury but only able to play in the second half, Coach Nghiem is actively seeking reinforcements in midfield and attack to bolster the team’s chances. The need for quality additions is urgent, as Hai Phong looks to turn their fortunes around and climb back up the V-League standings.

Despite the recent struggles, Hai Phong remains determined to bounce back and rediscover the form that had them at the cusp of V-League success earlier in the season. Coach Nghiem and his players will need to address their defensive lapses, capitalize on scoring opportunities, and navigate through the challenging period of injuries to mount a resurgence and regain their competitiveness in the league.

As the team grapples with their current predicament, Hai Phong fans remain hopeful that the club can overcome these setbacks and emerge stronger and more resilient in the face of adversity. With the right adjustments and reinforcements, Hai Phong aims to recapture their winning ways and once again establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the V-League.
