New GFA Standing Committee chairpersons appointed for four-year term
New GFA Standing Committee chairpersons have been appointed for a four-year term as Guam Football Association President Valentino San Gil selected each member of the Executive Committee to lead the nine standing committees. The appointments align with the GFA Statutes after the previous terms expired.
Joe Cepeda, GFA General Secretary, expressed excitement for the collaboration ahead, aiming to elevate Guam’s football development. Each chairperson will oversee specific areas crucial for Guam’s success within the sport, guiding decisions made by their respective committees.
The nine standing committees include the Finance and Risk Committee, Competition Committee, Technical and Development Committee, Referees Committee, Women’s Football Committee, Grassroots and Social Responsibility Committee, Futsal and Beach Committee, Marketing and Commercialization Committee, and the newly added Medical and High Performance Committee. The responsibilities and requirements for each committee are detailed in the GFA Statutes.
Each chairperson holds the responsibility of appointing their deputy chairperson and members within their respective committee. For instance, the Finance and Risk Committee will be led by GFA Vice President George Lai, overseeing financial matters and advising on asset management.
Other committees such as the Competition Committee, Technical and Development Committee, Referees Committee, Women’s Football Committee, Grassroots and Social Responsibility Committee, and Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee have similarly appointed chairpersons committed to their roles. The addition of the Marketing and Commercialization Committee and the Medical and High Performance Committee underscore GFA’s commitment to expanding and enhancing its operations.
The appointees will work diligently on various aspects of football administration, development, and promotion, striving to advance the sport in Guam. For more information on the GFA Statutes and official documents, visit the Guam Football Association’s website.
