Central Coast Mariners emerged victorious in a thrilling AFC Cup clash against Macarthur FC, with Ronald Barcellos’ late goal securing a 3-2 win after extra time. The Mariners initially led through Ángel Torres before a late equalizer from Bulls captain Ulises Dávila forced the match into extra time. Lachlan Rose then put Macarthur ahead, but Mikael Doka’s stunning strike leveled the score, setting the stage for Barcellos to clinch the victory with his first goal for the Mariners.

The triumph in the AFC ASEAN Zonal Final earned Central Coast Mariners a spot in the Inter Zonal Semi-Finals against Odisha FC from India, along with a prize of $100,000. This historic clash marked the first meeting between two A-League clubs in AFC continental competition.

Up next for the Mariners is a two-legged clash with Odisha FC, with the first leg scheduled for March 7 followed by the return leg in India on March 14. The winners will advance to the Inter Zone Final and potentially compete for the title of AFC Cup champions.
