Media Day Event Marks Kickoff of 2024 K League 1 Season
Twelve players, one from each K League 1 team, gathered at a media day event at The Plaza in central Seoul in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season set to commence on March 1. The league will feature 12 teams playing a total of 33 matches each, running from March 1 until October 6. Following this initial phase, the teams will be divided into two groups for the latter part of the season.
The top six teams will vie for the league title, while the bottom six will battle to steer clear of relegation in the final five league games. The schedule for these critical matches will only be disclosed once the initial 33 games have been completed. Notably, the 2024 season will see the return of 11 teams from the previous season, alongside newly-promoted Gimcheon Sangmu from the K League 2.
