The J League announced the “2024 Meiji Yasuda J League KONAMI Monthly MVP” for February and March, with Machida FW Yu Hirakawa (23) claiming the honor for the first time in the J1 category. Hirakawa, in his second year with Machida after joining as a college graduate, showcased his skills with crosses and dribbles, playing a pivotal role in Machida’s strong start to the season. Yasuharu Sorimachi, a member of the selection committee, praised Hirakawa’s contributions, highlighting his one goal and three assists in five games as evidence of his impact on the team.

Hirakawa, known for his quiet yet hard-working nature, expressed gratitude for the award through the J.League platform, thanking everyone involved with FC Machida Zelvia.
