Despite the draw, both Sydney FC and Melbourne City secured top-two finishes and progression to the Semi Finals. An early chance for the Mariners was thwarted by Alyssa Dall’Oste’s save, followed by Faye Bryson’s near own goal that hit the crossbar.

Kyah Simon missed several opportunities for the Mariners in the first half, while Rola Badawiya’s long-distance effort was saved. The game remained tight until Rasmussen capitalized on a defensive error to put the Mariners ahead.

De Domizio equalized for Western United shortly after with a clinical finish. A late chance to secure the win narrowly missed as both teams settled for a point. De Domizio’s goal marked a special moment, celebrated by her family in attendance.
