Persik Kediri Coach Admits Team’s Poor Performance in BRI Liga 1 2023/24 Week 29

Persik Kediri’s coach, Marcelo Rospide, expressed disappointment in his team’s performance during their recent match against Persija Jakarta in the 29th week of BRI Liga 1 2023/24. Despite facing only 10 players from the 55th minute onwards, Persija managed to secure a 2-0 victory at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Gianyar on Saturday evening.

Rospide acknowledged that Persik did not showcase their typical spirit and made crucial mistakes that led to their defeat. He credited Persija for playing well even with a numerical disadvantage, highlighting the disparity in performance between the two teams.

However, Rospide remains hopeful for the remainder of the season, stressing the importance of the upcoming five matches in their pursuit of a top-four finish to advance to the Championship Series. Despite their setback, Rospide issued an apology to Persik supporters and the community of Kediri for failing to deliver the expected three points in the match. Player Dikri Yusron echoed similar sentiments, admitting that the team’s inability to execute the coach’s tactics contributed to their defeat against the Kemayoran Tigers.

Although Persik had opportunities to equalize the score, defensive lapses cost them dearly, resulting in a deficit that they could not overcome.
