A Goal-Scoring Shortage in the Thirteenth Round of the Professional Football League

The thirteenth round of the Professional Football League was marked by a lack of goals, with only 9 goals scored across 6 matches. This figure pales in comparison to previous rounds, showcasing a trend towards tighter defensive displays.

Al-Hussein maintained their position at the top of the Jordanian Professional League standings with a 1-0 victory over Al-Salt. Saif Al-Din Darwish was the hero for Al-Hussein, finding the back of the net in the 62nd minute to secure the crucial three points.

In other matches from the round, Shabab Al-Urdun edged out Sahab 1-0 thanks to Ahmed Sabra’s goal in the 29th minute. Similarly, Mughir Al-Sarhan grabbed a late winner against Maan, with Muhammad Abu Dahab scoring in the 90th minute + 5th.

Shabab Al-Aqaba emerged victorious in a tight encounter with Al-Ahly, winning 2-1. Yazan Al-Gharabla opened the scoring for the hosts in the 11th minute, but Anas Badawi and Christian Vargas responded for Al-Ahly with goals in the 44th and 50th minutes respectively.

Al-Faisaly recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Al-Ramtha, with goals from Ronald Wanga, Arif Al-Hajj, and Bakr Kalbouna sealing the victory for the home side.

Elsewhere, Galilee and Al-Wahdat played out a goalless draw, with both teams unable to break the deadlock.

With the results from the thirteenth round, Al-Hussein remain at the top of the league table with 37 points, followed by Al-Faisaly in second place with 30 points and Al-Wahdat in third with 28 points. Ramtha, Shabab Al-Aqaba, Shabab Al-Urdun, Mughir Al-Sarhan, and Maan make up the middle of the table, while Al-Salt, Al-Jalil, Al-Ahly, and Sahab find themselves at the lower end of the standings.
