Bank of Guam Strykers FC and Guam Shipyard II Lead Bud Light G-League Women Groups After Week 2 Action
The Bank of Guam Strykers FC and Guam Shipyard II emerge as frontrunners in the Bud Light G-League Women after Week 2 clashes at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
In Group A showdowns, the Strykers dominated Tumon Typhoons FC with a 5-1 victory fueled by Sarah Benavente’s impressive hat trick, supported by goals from Alexy Dacanay and Anjelica Perez. Aubrey Ibanez salvaged a goal for Tumon’s squad.
Guam Shipyard Women secured a 3-1 win over NAPA Rovers FC, thanks to strikes from Maya Iriarte, Analea Meno, and Colleen Naden, while Annie Jones got one back for the Rovers.
Heavy Hitters/Nutrition Mission Heat narrowly edged past Sidekick SC 3-2, benefiting from goals by Cindy Maestrecampo and Taylor Camin, with Chloe Salas and Makenna Vis responding for Sidekick SC.
In Group B matches, Guam Shipyard II shut out NAPA Rovers FC II 4-0, with Lily Concepcion, Aubrey Manibusan, Miomi-Rose Blas, and Jenna Young finding the net.
Islanders FC secured a 4-2 victory over Tumon FC UOG through goals from Connica Baza, Kalle Damian, and Dolores San Gil, while Olivia Leon Guerrero netted both goals for Tumon FC UOG.
Following Week 2, Sarah Benavente and Hinengi San Nicolas top the Golden Boot race with four goals each, closely followed by Taylor Camin and Connica Baza with three goals apiece.
Looking ahead, the Bud Light G-League Women action resumes on Feb. 17 as Islanders FC squares off against Bank of Guam Strykers B while NAPA Rovers FC II take on Tumon FC UOG. The match lineup concludes with Guam Shipyard Women versus Tumon Typhoons FC, NAPA Rovers FC against Sidekick SC, and Heavy Hitters/Nutrition Mission Heat facing Bank of Guam Strykers on Feb. 18, starting at noon.
