Sabah FC Squad Management Hopes Datuk Ong Kim Swee Will Continue as Head Coach for 2024-2025 Season

The management of Sabah FC is keen on retaining Datuk Ong Kim Swee as the head coach for the upcoming Super League season. Speculations had linked him to the Director position at the Mokhtar Dahari Academy (AMD), previously held by Dennis Bekking. Joh Wid, Sabah’s manager, clarified that there were no talks of Kim Swee leaving the team. Discussions have focused on upcoming tournaments and bolstering the squad for the next season.

Kim Swee’s impact on Sabah was evident as he guided them to a third-place finish in the Super League for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Additionally, he led the team to the semi-finals of the AFC Cup ASEAN Zone in the 2023-2024 season before facing defeat against Macarthur FC from Australia. Joh expressed hope that Kim Swee would stay and continue to thrive with Sabah, highlighting the coach’s contract extension and the team’s satisfaction with his performance.

The focus for Sabah now shifts to preparations for the upcoming Super League season, set to kick off next month. The team is actively gearing up to ensure they are ready to compete at their best.
