Al Rayyan secured a significant win against Al Duhail with a 2-0 victory in their latest Expo Stars League showdown. The Brazilian standout, Roger Guedes, was the hero for Al Rayyan, netting both goals in the 80th and 86th minutes of the game. The match started with Al-Duhail pressing forward, aiming for an early breakthrough. Michael Olunga found the back of the net in the 23rd minute, only for the goal to be disallowed due to an offside call following a VAR review. Al-Duhail continued to push, coming agonizingly close with a header from Olunga hitting the crossbar in the 35th minute.

The second half saw Al Rayyan seizing the initiative, with Ashraf Bin Sharq and Guedes threatening the Al-Duhail goal. Sharq’s powerful shot struck the crossbar in the 45th minute, setting the tone for Al Rayyan’s attacking intent. Guedes eventually broke the deadlock in the 80th minute, capitalizing on a swift counterattack to put Al Rayyan in front.

Guedes wasn’t done yet, adding a second goal to his tally in the 86th minute with a superb finish past Al-Duhail’s goalkeeper. Despite Al-Duhail’s late attempts to salvage a result with tactical changes, Al Rayyan stood firm, maintaining their clean sheet and clinching a well-deserved victory.

With this win, Al Rayyan moves up the league standings with 35 points, while Al Duhail remains on 22 points. The result highlights Al Rayyan’s resilience and clinical finishing, securing a crucial three points in their quest for league success.
