2024 International Futsal Tournament: Vietnam Draws with New Zealand in Opening Match

In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Asian Futsal Finals scheduled from April 17 to April 28, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has organized the 2024 International Futsal Tournament. This tournament features invited teams like New Zealand, Morocco, and Iraq.

In the opening match against New Zealand, coach Giustozzi Diego Raul’s team started strong, with Van Tien scoring the first goal in the 9th minute with a decisive left-footed shot.

Despite limited threats to goalkeeper Huu Phuc, New Zealand managed to equalize through Rahan Ali’s shot. However, Thai Huy put Vietnam ahead once again before halftime with a goal assisted by Duc Hoa.

New Zealand bounced back to equalize again in the second half, with Rahan Ali completing a brace. Despite Vietnam’s efforts and pressure, they couldn’t break through New Zealand’s defense, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

Up next for Vietnam is a match against Morocco on March 30. Morocco impressed in their previous game by defeating Iran 5-4, setting up an exciting matchup for the Vietnamese team.

The tournament promises intense competition, with teams showcasing their skills and strategies as they aim for success in the 2024 International Futsal Tournament.
