After a remarkable ten-year career with the Southern Tigers, Aidil has officially retired from playing. Throughout his time with JDT, he made 174 appearances, scoring 8 goals and providing three assists on the field.
Known for his contributions to the team, Aidil played a key role in securing multiple titles for JDT, including the Super League (2014-2023), AFC Cup 2015, Malaysia Cup (2017, 2019, 2022, 2023), FA Cup (2016, 2022, 2023), and Contribution Cup (2015, 2016, 2018-2023). His impressive track record and leadership qualities have solidified his status as a legend within the club.
Recent images shared by JDT showcase Aidil actively engaging in his new position within the coaching staff alongside head coach Hector Bidoglio. Bidoglio, who previously held the role of the club’s technical director and first team advisor, will now lead as the Head Coach of the Southern Tigers. He will be supported by assistant coaches Pablo Ricchetti and a new addition from Argentina, along with various other coaches and fitness & medical staff joining the team for the upcoming season.
Furthermore, Aidil Zafuan has also been appointed to the coaching lineup of Harimau Selatan, the South Korean club, for the forthcoming season. This strategic move comes as the team aims to reduce costs by approximately 40% for the upcoming season. The combined expertise of Aidil and Bidoglio signals a new era for both JDT and Harimau Selatan as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the upcoming football season.
