Sri Pahang Forced to Use Temerloh Stadium Due to Darul Makmur Upgrade

Sri Pahang Faces Venue Change for Next Season due to Darul Makmur Stadium Upgrades

Sri Pahang may have to bid farewell to playing at the Darul Makmur Stadium next season, as the iconic venue is set to undergo a major upgrade. The improvements will focus on the drainage system and installing new grass to rejuvenate the stadium.

This decision came after a generous grant from the owner of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) club, DYAM Tunku Mahkota Johor, following a recommendation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS). Sri Pahang’s CEO, Datuk Mohammed Suffian Awang, confirmed the temporary closure of the Darul Makmur Stadium for the upgrade process.

The official venue for Sri Pahang next season is likely to be the Temerloh Stadium, as it received positive feedback from league management. The CEO stressed the suitability of Temerloh Stadium for league competitions, citing its previous use in the Malaysian Super League and the high regard from the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

Despite the shift, Sri Pahang remains hopeful to return to the Darul Makmur Stadium once the renovation works are completed. The CEO emphasized the importance of expedited upgrades to ensure a prompt return to their beloved home ground.

It’s worth noting that the Temerloh Stadium last hosted Pahang team matches during the 2014 season in the Malaysian League. As Sri Pahang prepares for a temporary change in venue, the focus remains on maintaining high-quality standards and planning for a successful return to the Darul Makmur Stadium in the future.
