Mohun Bagan SG Head Coach Antonio Habas Delighted with Team’s Thrilling Win Over Kerala Blasters_FC in ISL

Mohun Bagan Super Giant head coach Antonio Habas expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance following their thrilling 4-3 victory over Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League (ISL). The match, which took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, saw the Mariners secure their 12th win of the season, bringing them level on points with league leaders Mumbai City FC.

Armando Sadiku opened the scoring for Mohun Bagan SG before seeing his goal cancelled out by Vibin Mohanan in the second half. Dimitrios Diamantakos then equalized after Sadiku notched his second goal of the night. Deepak Tangri and substitute Jason Cummings added to the lead before Diamantakos pulled one back for the Blasters, who ultimately fell short in their comeback bid.

All three of Mohun Bagan SG’s foreign forwards contributed to the victory, with Sadiku and Cummings finding the back of the net, and Petratos providing an assist. Habas commended their performances, highlighting the importance of having multiple goal-scoring options in the team.

Despite conceding three goals for the first time since December, Habas was content with his team’s defensive showing given the challenging circumstances they faced, including a recent intense derby match against East Bengal FC.

With 39 goals scored in 18 games, Mohun Bagan SG currently lead the league in scoring. Since Habas took over as head coach in December, the team has netted 19 goals in just eight matches, showcasing their attacking prowess under his guidance.

Discussing his team’s playing style, Habas emphasized the importance of finding the right balance between attack and defense based on the players at his disposal. He believes that adapting tactics to suit the strengths of the squad is key to achieving success on the pitch.
