Surprise Release: Negeri Sembilan FC Axes Veteran Striker Zaquan

Surprise and Controversy Surrounding Release of Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak from Negeri Sembilan FC

The decision by Negeri Sembilan FC to release veteran striker Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak came as a surprise to many fans. Zaquan himself expressed shock upon receiving a letter notifying him that his contract had not been renewed. Despite his sadness, Zaquan accepted the decision with an open heart, understanding the nature of the football industry. The Chief Executive Officer of Negeri Sembilan, Faliq Firdaus, clarified that Zaquan was aware of his upcoming free agent status after the expiration of his contract on December 17. The club had initially planned to include Zaquan in their roster for the 2024-2025 season but reconsidered due to factors like age and injury history. As a 37-year-old player with a history of ACL injuries, Zaquan’s contract renewal was deemed financially risky. The notification letter regarding the non-renewal of his contract was part of standard procedure and had been sent to all players whose contracts were not extended. Negeri Sembilan is now focused on recruiting new players for the upcoming Super League season, set to kick off in May.
