2024 Chinese Super League Round One Results: Shandong Taishan, Shanghai Port, and Beijing Guoan Secure Victories

The 2024 Chinese Super League season kicked off with all 16 teams battling it out in Round One. Here’s a quick recap of the action:

Shandong Taishan faced Changchun Yatai in the opening fixture, which was moved forward due to Shandong’s AFC Champions League commitments. Shandong emerged victorious with a commanding 4-2 win, thanks to goals from Crysan, Matheus Pato, Jadson, and Valeri Qazaishvilli. Changchun fought back with goals from Robert Beric and Tan Long but fell short in the end.

Qingdao Youth Island and Henan played out a 1-1 draw, with Bruno Nazario scoring on his debut for Henan before Lei Wenjie leveled the score. Huang Ruifeng’s red card for Henan allowed Qingdao to secure their first point in the CSL.

Defending champions Shanghai Port defeated Wuhan Three Towns 3-1, with Wu Lei scoring twice and Wang Shenchao sealing the win. Tianjin Jinmen Tiger and Nantong Zhiyun settled for a 1-1 draw, with Albion Ademi and Issa Kallon finding the net.

Beijing Guoan started their campaign on a high note with a 2-0 win over Cangzhou Mighty Lions, courtesy of goals from Zhang Yuning and Yang Liyu. Chengdu Rongcheng defeated Qingdao Hainiu 2-0, with Andrigo and Li Yang on the scoresheet.

In another tight contest, Zhejiang edged past Shenzhen New Peng City 1-0, as Frank Adrijasevic secured the win. Shanghai Shenhua also claimed a 2-0 victory over Meizhou Hakka, with André Luis scoring a brace to kickstart their season.
