Al-Hilal book Asian Champions League quarter-final clash with Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Ittihad
Al-Hilal secured their spot in the Asian Champions League quarter-finals by defeating Sepahan 6-2 on aggregate. The Saudi giants set up an all-Saudi Pro League clash with Al-Ittihad in the next round after a 3-1 victory in the second leg.
Despite a spirited performance from Sepahan, Al-Hilal managed to equalize in the 76th minute through Salem Al-Dawsari, who was celebrating his 400th appearance for the club. A stunning strike from Ruben Neves and a goal from Aleksandar Mitrovic sealed the win for the home side.
The match took a turn in the 54th minute when Sepahan took the lead, but their momentum was halted when they were reduced to 10 men following a red card. Al-Hilal capitalized on the numerical advantage and secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a commanding performance.
With Al-Nassr also progressing to the next round, Saudi Arabia now has three teams in the last eight of the competition. The highly anticipated quarter-final clash between Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal is set for March 5 and is expected to draw significant interest from fans both domestically and internationally.
