Saudi golfer Faisal Salhab shines in opening round at $2m International Series Oman

Faisal Salhab, a Saudi golfer, has made an impressive start at the $2 million International Series Oman with a solid 1-under par 71 round at the Al-Mouj Golf Club. Despite a couple of bogeys, Salhab showcased his skill by hitting 15 out of 18 greens in regulation and missing only two fairways throughout the day.

Joining Salhab in the competition were fellow Saudi professionals Saud Al-Sharif and Othman Almulla, who also had strong starts. Al-Sharif was 1-under par before a double bogey pushed him to 1-over par, while Almulla fought back from an early setback to finish at 6-over par.

After his round, Salhab expressed his optimism for 2024, believing that it could be a breakthrough year for Saudi professional golfers. He emphasized the importance of having a winning mentality and not being afraid to compete against top players.

During his round, Salhab demonstrated his fearlessness by bouncing back with a birdie after a bogey. His positive attitude and mental strength were evident throughout the day, showing his ability to overcome challenges on the course.

While Salhab has had better rounds in the past, he was pleased with his performance in Oman, considering the difficult conditions of the course. He acknowledged the need to continue working hard and believing in himself to achieve success in future tournaments.

Overall, Salhab’s opening round at the International Series Oman was a strong start to the competition, highlighting his skill, determination, and potential for a successful year ahead. As Saudi professional golfers continue to make their mark on the international stage, it’s clear that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of golf.
