India Makes History with 4-3 Win Over Estonia in Turkish Women’s Cup 2024
India beat Estonia 4-3 in their first match of the Turkish Women’s Cup 2024 football tournament at the Gold City Sports Complex in Alanya, Turkey, on Wednesday. The historic win marked the first victory of the Indian women’s football team against a team from the UEFA confederation in an official match. Prior to this, India had faced Belarus, Ukraine, and Romania, resulting in losses in all three matches.
The Indian team, ranked 65th in the world, faced tough competition from Estonia, ranked 98th in the FIFA rankings, in the opening minutes of the match.
