Ulsan HD FC Set to Face Incheon United in Hana Bank K League 1 2024: Joo Min-gyu Leads the Charge
Ulsan HD FC is set to face Incheon United in the upcoming third round of the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 at Munsu Soccer Stadium on the 17th. The defending champions have been on a winning streak, triumphing over Pohang Steelers and Gimcheon Sangmu in consecutive matches since the league’s commencement. With two consecutive league titles under their belt, Ulsan seems poised for a third consecutive triumph.
Their unbeaten run extends beyond the domestic league, encompassing six games in the 2024 season, which includes victories in the round of 16 and quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League. A recent win against rival Jeonbuk Hyundai in the ACL quarterfinals secured Ulsan a spot in the semifinals, where they will face Yokohama FM from Japan.
Propelled by the prospect of qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, Ulsan is trailing Jeonbuk by just 2 points in AFC points. A single win in the upcoming semifinals could see them leapfrog their rivals. Additionally, Ulsan has had six players make it to the Korean national team, showcasing their strength and talent.
Joo Min-gyu, the league’s top scorer, is in excellent form and is currently representing the national team. Alongside him, Lee Myung-jae and Lee Dong-kyung have also been making significant contributions, further solidifying Ulsan’s position as a formidable force in the league.
Despite having a mixed record against Incheon United last season, Ulsan remains confident in their abilities to secure a victory in the upcoming match. With a combination of confidence, performance, and results, Ulsan is determined to conclude this part of the season on a high note.
