Japan continued their impressive start in the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 2026 with a commanding 5-0 victory over Bahrain in Riffa. Ayase Ueda and Hidemasa Morita both netted twice, securing Japan’s second consecutive win.
Ueda opened the scoring in the 37th minute from a penalty, and shortly after the break, he added his second. Morita’s quickfire brace in the 61st and 64th minutes put the game beyond Bahrain’s reach, while Koki Ogawa completed the rout with a header in the final minutes. Japan, now with 12 goals in two games, leads Group C, staying two points ahead of Saudi Arabia. Bahrain, following their win over Australia, remains on three points.
