Omar Mugharbel, the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Pro League, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting its importance in expanding the SPL’s digital footprint. “The partnership between the Saudi Pro League and TikTok marks a major development for our sector in the region. It represents a strategic leap for the future of sports entertainment. By leveraging TikTok’s platform, we transcend traditional engagement, offering fans a creative outlet to connect with their passion for football,” Mugharbel said.

TikTok, which already has existing partnerships with prominent sports entities such as UEFA, Major League Soccer (MLS), and the NFL, will further its involvement in the sports world with this collaboration. Kinda Ibrahim, the General Manager of TikTok for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Pakistan, and South Asia, emphasized the platform’s alignment with Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted love for football. “Saudi Arabia’s passion for football is undeniable. By partnering with the Saudi Pro League, we tap into this fervor for the sport and align with the league’s vision to become one of the world’s leading football leagues,” Ibrahim remarked.

The SPL has a growing presence on TikTok, boasting 2.5 million followers. This partnership is expected to expand that reach even further, with the introduction of the hashtag #SaudiLeague serving as a focal point for fans to engage with the competition.
