Botafogo Signs Alex Telles After His Departure from Al-Nassr

Botafogo has finalized the signing of left-back Alex Telles, who has agreed to join the club after terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. The 31-year-old Brazilian defender will be with Botafogo until the end of 2026, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Alex Telles joined Al-Nassr in mid-2023, following a wave of high-profile signings made possible by the club’s financial backing from the local Public Investment Fund. During his time with Al-Nassr, Telles made 38 appearances, scoring three goals and providing five assists. He played four matches in the 2024-25 season, including two in the Saudi Super Cup and two in the Saudi Pro League.

Before his stint in Saudi Arabia, Telles had a successful career in Europe, playing for clubs such as Galatasaray, Inter Milan, Porto, Manchester United, and Sevilla. Botafogo will be the third Brazilian club in his career, following his time at Juventude and Grêmio. Telles has also represented the Brazilian national team, including participation in the 2022 World Cup.
