French footballer Nabil Fekir, aged 31, has officially been transferred to Al-Jazira, following an agreement reached on Friday with his former team, Real Betis Balompié. Fekir joined Real Betis in 2019 after winning the World Cup with the French national team. During his time at Betis, he became a beloved figure among the fans, eventually taking on the role of captain for the team known as “The Thirteen Bars.”
Throughout his five seasons with Real Betis, Fekir made a significant impact, contributing 25 assists and scoring 29 goals in 165 official matches. His leadership on the field was instrumental in the club’s success, helping them secure four European qualifications and claiming the prestigious Copa del Rey title in 2022.
In a statement released by Real Betis, the club expressed its gratitude for Fekir’s contributions, acknowledging the key role he played in the team’s growth and achievements. They also wished him the best of luck in his future career with Al-Jazira.
