The assistant coach situation at Selangor FC remains a mystery, with the team reportedly considering an Australian-born coach for the role. CEO Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon revealed this detail while discussing team plans for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Recently, the Red Giants made headlines by appointing Nidzam Jamil as the new head coach, stepping in for Tan Cheng Hoe who departed for Thailand. Dr. Johan expressed gratitude for the active search for an assistant coach, with the aim of adding 2-3 new staff members to the coaching team.
Nidzam Jamil has been given the responsibility to select his coaching lineup, stressing the importance of strong support for Selangor in the upcoming season. One of the potential candidates being considered is an Australian-born manager with previous experience playing in the Malaysian League.
Dr. Johan hinted at the possibility of bringing in assistant coaches from abroad, with a specific focus on the Australian candidate who shares a history with Nidzam Jamil during their playing days. The CEO mentioned Ross Aloisi and Adam Graifth as former Australian players in contention for the role at Selangor FC.
