New Super League Import Stars Set to Shine in 2024/25 Season
The upcoming 2024/25 Super League season is set to showcase the talents of two new import stars, Jalil Elias and Oday Kharoub. According to Astro Arena journalist Zulhelmi Zainal Azam, Elias, with a current value of €3 million (RM15 million), is the priciest player in the Super League. Hailing from Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT FC), Elias brings with him experience from renowned clubs like San Lorenzo and Newell’s Old Boys.
Zulhelmi highlighted Elias’ impressive background, noting his past participation with Syria in the Asian Cup and his Argentine roots from San Lorenzo. The journalist emphasized Elias’ significance as a top-tier acquisition, surpassing previous market values in the Malaysian League.
In a contrasting move, Oday Kharoub’s decision to join Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) stands out for different reasons. The former Hilal Al-Quds player turned down lucrative offers from Middle Eastern leagues to compete in the Super League, citing Malaysia’s support for the Palestinian cause as a major factor in his decision.
Zulhelmi commended Oday’s gesture, highlighting the midfielder’s appreciation for Malaysia’s solidarity with Palestine. Despite foregoing potentially higher salaries elsewhere, Oday prioritized the opportunity to represent KDN FC and express gratitude towards Malaysia’s support for Palestine.
Both Elias and Oday are expected to debut for their respective teams when the 2024/25 Super League kicks off on May 10. Their arrivals herald an exciting new chapter for Malaysian football, with fans eagerly anticipating the impact these talented imports will have on the upcoming season.
