Bangkok United edges closer to Thai League 1 leaders with win against Ratchaburi

Bangkok United closed the gap on Thai League 1 leaders Buriram United with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Ratchaburi. Vander Luis and Willen Mota scored in the second half to overturn Sanchai Nontasila’s early goal for the home team. Bangkok United now sit two points behind Buriram, setting up a crucial clash with Port tomorrow.

Coach Totchtawan Sripan praised both teams’ performance, with Ratchaburi impressing in the first half. Bangkok United made tactical adjustments to secure the comeback victory, with Mota netting the decisive goal. In another fixture, Nakhon Pathom secured a 1-0 win over Lamphun Warriors thanks to Adefolarin Durosinmi’s goal.

Buriram will face Prachuap without key players Theerathon Bunmathan and Peeradol Chamratsamee due to injuries. The defending champions aim to widen their lead at the top, while Prachuap seeks vital points in their relegation battle. Chiang Rai will host BG Pathum United in another important matchup, with Chiang Rai eager to end their winless run and BG Pathum United looking to build on their recent draw against Buriram.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Muang Thong will take on Trat, while Uthai Thani welcome Khon Kaen in their respective fixtures. With the title race heating up and the relegation battle intensifying, Thai League 1 promises more exciting football action in the upcoming matches.
