Victory for Al Markhiya as they Defeat Al Ahly 4-1 in Expo Stars League

Al Markhiya secured a significant victory over Al Ahly with a 4-1 scoreline in the 20th week of the Expo Stars League for the 2023-2024 season. The match took place at Al Thumama Stadium on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Following this win, Al-Markhiya now has 11 points in 12th place, while Al-Ahly remains at 20 points in the standings.

Goals for Al Markhiya were netted by Mohammed Khaled Al Nuaimi in the 30th minute, Iraqi Bashar Rassan scored twice in the 43rd and 90th minutes, and substitute Noufal Banis found the back of the net in the 83rd minute. Al Ahly managed to score through German player Julian Draxler in the 22nd minute.

The match kicked off with both teams displaying an energetic and fast-paced play. Al-Ahly had an early threat with Julian Draxler’s shot in the 2nd minute, expertly saved by Al-Markhiya goalkeeper Louay Sharif.

In the 8th minute, Abdul Rahman Mohammed missed a goal-scoring opportunity for Al-Markhiya after his shot hit the post and was cleared off the goal line by Al-Ahly’s defender Amin Al-Tahi.

Al-Ahly took the lead in the 22nd minute through Julian Draxler, following up on Doukkali Al-Said’s shot. Al-Markhiya quickly responded with Mohammed Khaled Al-Nuaimi scoring the equalizer with a header in the 30th minute.

Bashar Rassan extended Al-Markhiya’s lead with a second goal in the 43rd minute, showcasing a spectacular shot.

Despite Al-Ahly’s efforts in the second half, Al-Markhiya’s goalkeeper Louay Sherif made crucial saves to maintain their lead. Substitute Noufal Banis secured another goal for Al-Markhiya in the 83rd minute.

Bashar Rassan completed his brace in the 90th minute, sealing Al Markhiya’s victory with a final score of 4-1.
