Al-Arabi Club Defeats Al-Wakrah 4-2 in Expo Stars League Match
Al-Arabi Club secured a 4-2 victory against Al-Wakrah in a thrilling match at Saud bin Abdul Rahman Stadium. The match was part of the Expo Stars League for the 2023-2024 football season. Al-Arabi had previously defeated Al-Wakrah in the first division match with a score of 2-1.
Al-Wakrah opened the scoring early in the fourth minute through Mohammed Bin Yatto, but Al-Arabi equalized in the 37th minute thanks to Alaa El Din Hassan. The second half saw Al-Arabi take the lead with goals from Omar Al Somah in the 64th and 87th minutes, while Youssef Msakni sealed the victory in the 90+10th minute.
This result saw Al-Arabi’s points increase to 26, while Al-Wakrah remained at 37 points. Despite several absences from the starting lineup, Al-Arabi’s technical staff expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for future matches. The match served as valuable preparation for their upcoming fixture against Al Sharjah in the Qatari UAE Super Cup on April 12.
The first half was characterized by both teams seeking an early advantage, with Al-Wakrah taking an early lead. However, Al-Arabi fought back and equalized before the halftime break. The second half belonged to Al-Arabi, with Al-Somah scoring two goals to secure the victory.
In the 59th minute, Al-Wakrah’s chances were dealt a blow as Khaled Ali was shown a red card, reducing them to ten players. Despite a late penalty goal for Al-Wakrah, Al-Arabi maintained control and added another goal in injury time to claim a 4-2 win.
