Kedah Darul Aman Fined and Deducted 3 Points for Salary Arrears

Kedah Darul Aman FC Deducted Three Points and Fined for Salary Arrears: Super League Team 2023

Kedah Darul Aman, a Super League team for 2023, is facing consequences for not paying full salary arrears for the year. As confirmed by the First Instance Body (FIB), the club will be docked three points and fined RM 50,000 for the 2024-2025 season due to this lapse.

Despite a deadline of March 30, 2024, Kedah Darul Aman failed to settle the entire salary arrears. They submitted a letter on March 28, 2024, offering to pay 50 percent of the total salary arrears for 2023 and a payment schedule signed by 75 percent of players and officials on March 29, 2024. However, this partial settlement did not meet the FIB’s requirements for full payment.

According to the FIB, Kedah Darul Aman must comply with the regulations for the 2024-2025 Super League season. Failure to pay in full could result in the revocation of the club’s National License, preventing them from competing in the upcoming season.

While Kedah Darul Aman faces uncertainty, another Super League club, KL City, managed to settle their salary arrears before the deadline. This timely action secured their position in the upcoming season, contrasting the situation for Kedah Darul Aman.

The importance of meeting financial obligations is highlighted by these actions, emphasizing the need for clubs to prioritize their responsibilities and adhere to regulations set forth by governing bodies. As the football landscape evolves, clubs must ensure that they operate within the guidelines to maintain their eligibility for competitions.
