Kedah Darul Aman FC Starts Pre-Season Strong With Victory Over Penang FC U-23 Squad
Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) kicked off their pre-season with a solid performance, defeating the Penang FC Under-23 (U-23) team at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium. The match drew more than 1,500 supporters who came out to cheer on Sang Kenari.
With key players like Sony Norde, Syafiq Ahmad, and Rizal Ghazali in the lineup, Kedah didn’t take long to grab the lead, with Akmal Zahir finding the net in the 15th minute. Despite attempts from the young Penang side led by Manzoor Azwira Abdul Wahid to equalize, the score remained 1-0 going into halftime.
The second half saw Kedah ramping up the pressure, eventually extending their lead with a goal from Loqman Hakim Marzuki in the 58th minute. Further goals from Rizal and Syafiq in the 84th and 86th minutes sealed the victory for the home team.
Looking ahead, Kedah is set to take part in a four-a-side tournament in Kuala Terengganu next month, along with Terengganu FC, Terengganu II, and Penang FC. The tournament offers another opportunity for KDA FC to fine-tune their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
