Al-Shamal defeats Al-Ahly 2-1 in Expo Stars League match

In a match between Al-Shamal and Al-Ahly on Friday evening, Al-Shamal emerged victorious with a 2-1 win at Al-Bayt Stadium. The goals for Al-Shamal were scored by Mohamed Omar and Ricardo Gomez, while Omar Sekou found the net for Al-Ahly.

The first half saw Al-Shamal’s strong offensive presence, with Mohamed Omar scoring in the 31st minute, giving them a 1-0 lead. Despite Al-Ahly’s efforts, the half ended with Al-Shamal in the lead.

In the second half, Al-Ahly managed to equalize with a goal from Omar Sekou in the 52nd minute. However, it was Ricardo Gomez’s goal in the 66th minute that secured the win for Al-Shamal, with a final score of 2-1.

Both teams continued to push for goals, but Al-Shamal’s defensive efforts ultimately preserved their lead. Al-Shamal’s win sees them move to 21 points, ahead of Al-Ahly’s 20 points in the Expo Stars League for the 2023-2024 season.
