“Terengganu FC Prepares for 2024-2025 Super League Season with Pre-Season Campaign in Malaysia”
With the impending 2024-2025 Super League season on the horizon, Terengganu FC has opted to embark on a pre-season campaign within Malaysia. The decision was motivated by a desire to curtail operating expenses and allocate resources judiciously, as affirmed by Zulfadli Rozi, the Sports Director of Terengganu. The initial phase of this preparation involves a string of friendly matches set to take place in the Klang Valley from March 31 to April 4.
Subsequently, the focus will shift towards a triangular tournament featuring Terengganu, Terengganu II, Penang FC, and Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) scheduled to run from April 17 to April 21. Zulfadli underscored the team’s strategic intent, stating, “In preparation for the forthcoming 2024/2025 season, Terengganu FC has outlined a series of friendly encounters tailored to optimize readiness. The emphasis is on cost-efficiency and synchronization with the readiness of counterpart teams, prompting our decision to center our pre-season activities exclusively around domestic matches.”
Moreover, in alignment with the impending introduction of the video assistant referee (VAR) system in the Malaysian League (M League) for the upcoming season, Terengganu will conduct two additional trial matches on April 28 and May 3. Zulfadli elaborated on this development, noting, “We acknowledge the imminent integration of the VAR system into the league structure this season. Consequently, our team will engage in two friendly fixtures on April 28 and May 3 to assess the functionality of the VAR system and fine-tune our gameplay in anticipation of the upcoming league commencement in May.”
The significance of Terengganu’s pre-season maneuvering transcends mere technical evaluations, serving as a pivotal opportunity to evaluate the aptitude and cohesion of new squad members donning the Peteh jersey this season. Notably, key additions to the Terengganu lineup include Safawi Rasid, Akhyar Rashid, Akram Mahinan, and Ismaheel Akinade. As anticipation builds ahead of the 2024-2025 Super League season, Terengganu FC’s meticulous pre-season arrangements signify a strategic commitment to fortifying their competitive edge and fortifying their footing within the Malaysian football landscape.
